Welcome to the e-pubguide.info page for East and West Sussex.

The counties of East and West Sussex offer the full spectrum of scenery; from the rolling green hills of the South Downs to the characteristic shingle beaches of Brighton, Worthing and Eastbourne; from quaint and historic villages and ancient market towns to the stark 1960s architecture of Crawley. London Gatwick Airport may also be found in West Sussex, but without further ado let's find out about the pubs, inns and purveyors of fine ales to be found in this part of the world.

Please look at the information below and follow the links provided to find out more about the Great British Pub in East and West Sussex.

Not a pub, but this small and friendly shop in Horsham, West Sussex is one of the best off-licences we've come across. An excellent range of bottled beers (most of which originate from breweries in the southern counties) and ciders is on offer, so if you're stuck for a Christmas or birthday present, try here. What we were particularly impressed with however was the six casks of ale that were tapped and ready for sale; most were from the nearby Arundel Brewery the day we called in but Gareth, the proprietor, tells us his stock is constantly changing. We bought half a gallon of the excellent Arundel Gold, although larger quantities are offered. We were impressed with the condition of the ale (I had previously tried bottled Arundel Gold but this was my first taste in cask guise), the friendly and very knowledgable service, and the opportunity of trying the beer before we bought it.

We have included a link to Gareth Jones' excellent website - please have a good look around and make sure you pop in to the shop next time you're passing.
